Head Tennis Coach Bruce Davidson
Coach Davidson has lived in the Dallas area and been an avid tennis player and fan his whole life. After high school, where he was the city champion in doubles and singles, he switched to football and led his college flag football team to the FF National Championships as quarterback. He graduated from UNT and went on to earn his law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law. He has been a member of Park Cities Baptist Church for 35 years, where he met his wife, Sharla. About 15 years ago, he dove headfirst back into tennis. After success in a variety of leagues and tournaments, he started teaching private lessons, which he still does today. This led to him accepting a position as assistant tennis coach at Prince of Peace Christian School five years ago, along with working as a USTA tournament official. He realized that while he loves playing tennis, nothing is more rewarding than watching and analyzing a player's game, working on the proper adjustments, and seeing "the light go on" on a young person's face when he/she "gets it." The chance to make a difference in a young person's life through athletics drives him, and he couldn't be more excited about this opportunity and the future of PCA Tennis.
